Who is eligible to study MBBS in Medical Colleges of China?

Also must have studied and passed English as a compulsory subject.
What will be the procedure of admission for MBBS Course?
First you have to apply for admission. After registration and application process is duly completed, your visa application will be processed by the University / College. You will get the admission conformation letter and the joining letter within two weeks after applying for admission. CES shall assist in this.
Can I do my internship in India?
Yes, you can do after clearing the screening test held by the Medical Council Of India .
Can I practice in India on my Return?
Yes, you can practice in India. In order to practice as a Medical Practitioner, you have to register yourself with the State of Indian Medical Council. For this, you have to appear for a screening test. On clearing the screening test, you are eligible for registration as a Doctor and allowed to practice at par with all other Doctors.
Can I get a job in Government Hospitals or allied Medical Institutions in India?
Yes, after clearing the screening test and getting your registration with the State or Central Council, you are eligible for jobs in all Government hospitals as well as private institutions.
What happens if I fail to clear screening test of MCI?
Normally a student who passes MBBS from an English medium WHO recognized University / College is expected to clear this test in first attempt. One can also take coaching towards preparation for the same, so it is not likely to be a deterrent factor. Screening test is conducted by National Board of Examination, New Delhi every six months. One can appear in the screening test for any number of times.
Is the Course approved by MCI?
Yes, but they conduct screening test and allow successful candidates to register with them and practice in India.
Is these Universities are enlisted in WHO?
Yes, these Universities are enlisted in WHO, IMED, ECFMG, FAIMER and recognized by Government of China.
Who is eligible to study Engineering in Engineering Colleges of China?

What is the Course duration?
The Course Duration of MBBS is six years including one year internship.For Engineering, the course duration is four years.
What is the medium of study? Is it necessary to study Chinese language?
The medium of instruction shall be English. However Chinese language class is included free of cost in educational curriculum. This is to make a student’s stay comfortable by enabling him / her to communicate with the locals, the students and the patients.
How many foreign students are studying there and how many are from India?
Thousands of foreign students are studying in the Universities / Colleges and a lot of students studying MBBS are from India.
Do any foreign professors teach there?
Yes, a lot of foreign professors teach there. Many of them are from USA, and UK.
What are the lab and library facilities of Colleges in China?
The labs are facilitated with highly sophisticated equipments and amenities, and most modern library with lots of Medical, Engineering & Management books, English books, Periodicals, Journals. Modern age Digital library is one of the attractions in campuses.
Do I have to eat only Chinese food always?
China is very famous for providing variety of food. University / College canteens offer Chinese, Continental, Indian, European and Halal food as per student’s choice. All popular vegetables like potato, brinjal, cauliflower, cabbage, beans, carrots, cucumber are available. Similarly egg, fish, chicken, mutton is also abundant. Loaf, bread, cookies, pastries, ice creams, canned juices are available in plenty in all stores. Some hostels provide common kitchen facilities where students can cook also.
How many times can I come to my home land in a year?
There are two vacations- winter and summer. The winter vacation is around the last week of January and summer vacations are in July and August and you can easily come to your Home during this period. That is also the end of term. CES recommends the students to take summer as their main vacation.
Does a student need to comeback to India during his vacations?
Student need not comeback to India every year during his / her vacation and can stay back in China and explore the beautiful Country.
Can I get Bank Loan and to what extent?
As per RBI regulations an Indian student pursuing education abroad can obtain Bank Loan up to ` 20 lakhs. Since the cost of the entire program is much less; the entire amount can be funded from Bank Loan.
How is the weather and climate?
The climate is very similar to India. Tropical climate with regional variation.
Can I do MS / MD, I mean post graduation there?
Yes, on successful completion of MBBS, you can pursue PG course there.
How to get the Visa? Will you help me or obtain for me?

All the payments will be calculated in Chinese Currency (CNY). However, you can transfer Tuition Fees and Dormitory Fees directly to the University / College account or can carry TC / Cash to the University / College.

No, Student must pay Tuition Fees and Dormitory Fees directly in the University / College or transfer to University / College account.
How much time is required to reach the college from India?
If properly planned, one can reach in half day (5 hrs to 10 hrs)
How Parents can call students?
Every student is advised to have a mobile phone. Mobile phone system is highly developed in China and parents can easily contact them. Other than personal mobiles, in every Hostel, there is common land line telephone where also parents can make call. Internet usage is increasingly wide spread in China. If you have your own computer / laptop, you can sign up directly from your Hostel. Please note that Hostel provide internet service and telephone service in each room.
Can Parents visit the College?
Yes, Parents are most welcome to visit student’s Hostel and the College / University. There are guest rooms in Hostel where they can stay after paying a nominal charge.
If I need money in China, how my parents can send money?
The best way to transfer the money is to use international ATM / Debit cards. For this purpose student should open a bank a/c in his / her country that is offering international ATM / Debit card. Then whenever he needs money, his / her parents will just deposit / transfer amount in this account and the student can draw the amount from ATM machine of Chinese bank.
Can a student open a Bank Account in China?
Yes, a student can open a Bank Account to keep his money safe. He can also use this account to have his family remittance whenever required.
Where can I obtain foreign exchange during my studies in China?
We can organize to have your foreign exchange issued as well as have your fees remitted through RBI authorized foreign exchange dealers.
If student gets ill in China, who will take care of student? Is medical treatment available in Universities / Colleges?
All students, who join any University / College, are required to take a medical insurance to cover them for any medical assistance that they may require. This insurance would have to be taken at the time of joining. They usually cover all risks related to hospitalization and accidents; however outpatient bills won’t be covered under general insurance.
Whom does the student contact in China, if, have any queries or problems at the University / College?
As a responsible student, you are expected to do your best to contact the relevant authorities at the University / College Hostel to solve your problems. Every University / College has an International Students Department where the student can address their problem directly, since they are the responsible Department for your stay at the University / College.
Can student do any part time job?
As per law of MOE China and International Students Departments for foreigners, during study period, student can’t do part time job.
What about hostel facility?
Yes, the Hostel facilities provided in these Universities / Colleges are of International standards with all modern amenities. Rooms shared by three students, two students or a single room are available depending upon the room rent. In some Universities / Colleges, students have the option of living off campus from their second academic year with the consent of their parents and University / College authorities.
What about safety?
There is round the clock security services by the University / College. The timing and the discipline in the Hostels and Class rooms are strictly monitored.
What is the mode of travel & cost?
Mode of travel shall be by air. The cost depends on city you choose. (` 20,000 to ` 35,000) (Approximately for two way ticket) It is very important for the student to strictly make all his / her travel arrangements as per the instructions of CES. This is to ensure that all the students reach the University / College in a group as per the instructions of the International Students Department of the University / College. Therefore, kindly seek assistance from CES for your travel arrangements and book your tickets only from CES approved travel agents to ensure that there are no miscommunications with regards to the travel dates.
What are the documents I require for the interview?
You need to carry all original documents during the interview. All of the following documents must be in separate clear plastic folders and NOT in files and all in ORIGINAL. There are two kinds of documents -

1. Acceptance letter: The official acceptance letter is sent along with the admit letter from by the University where you have been offered admission. The original copy of the letter will be required.
2. Original Test Scores: GRE/GMAT and TOEFL Test-scores sheets.
3. Scholarship Letters: If you have received any scholarships or assistantships from the college or university, you will need to carry these financial award letters.
4. Any other correspondence with the University.
5. Printouts of e-mail received from the faculty / officials of the university.
6. Copy of the Statement of Purpose.
7. Original Degree certificates and all original mark-sheets from Class 12 / HSC onwards. This will prove your educational qualification for the program
What are the financial documents I require?
The visa officer needs to ascertain your ability to pay the entire educational expense. This includes tuition fees, boarding expenses and other miscellaneous expenses that you will incur in country you intend to study. Ideally, you will need to show the expenses for the entire length of your education.
Note: You need to produce these documents even if you have applied for financial aid.
These documents include:
1. I -T returns of yours sponsor for the past 5 years.
2. PASSBOOK / BALANCE STATEMENT and Certificate from your bank stating the bank-balance.
3. Statement from a Chartered Accountant listing all assets (movable and immovable) of yours and your parents and the sponsor (if parents are not the sponsors).
4. Original documents pertaining to the certificate issued by Chartered Accountant.

About application:
When is the right time for submitting the Application?
Every foreign University/College has their own intakes (admission starting dates) during a year. Some have two intakes during the year, while others may have three or only one intake during the year. Generally, majority Institutions in a particular country follow same intake. Hence, one should initiate steps for admission process atleast 1 year in advance for the respective intake. In some cases, you could initiate these steps 3-4 months in advance also.

What one needs to be accepted into a course?
To be accepted into a course of study at a British institution, you need to satisfy the minimum academic entry requirements and English language requirements.
What if one doesn’t have the minimum entry qualifications?
Students with relevant practical experience but without formal qualifications are sometimes considered. Advice on the entry requirements for ones’ specific course and whether his/her work experience can be considered in lieu of his formal qualifications, can be obtained from the admission office of the respective institution.
For Undergraduate studies: if one does not have formal qualifications, he/she can undertake a Foundation course, which usually lasts one academic year. There are a number of colleges running the Foundation courses, as do many Universities.
For Postgraduate studies: Students having neither a formal degree nor relevant work experience, but have satisfied the course tutor that they have flair for the particular course, may be admitted to a Postgraduate Certificate program. A PG Certificate program usually lasts 6 months and comprises the first semester of the appropriate masters degree. On showing good performance in postgraduate certificate program, one can claim admission to postgraduate diploma and subsequently to a master degree, without any waste of time.
One has below average grades in his/her high school or college/University. Will he/she get admission?
Yes, one can get admissions even if he/she has below average grades in academics. There are several good Universities abroad and they understand that students sometimes loose focus and do not concentrate on their studies. They even understand the Indian academic system as they are in close co-ordination with us. These Universities will be ready to give one a second chance.
Student intending to go abroad after SSC for further studies. How?
Yes, there are study-abroad programs even if one is just a 10th class student. There are High Schools too in UK, Canada, USA, Australia and New Zealand that allow such entry.

Can one change his/her major upon reaching the University?
Yes, certainly. In fact, most undergraduate students change their major at least once during their four-year course of study. Most Universities abroad allow students the flexibility to change their major as they wish.
What are Sandwich and Foundation programs?
Sandwich programs are made-up of a combination of periods of study and time spent in Industry. So the course duration extends to 4-years instead of the usual 3-years, for all bachelors’ courses. Foundation programs are of 1-year duration and are generally tailored for students as an alternative route to bridge between one's qualification and that, which is required for entry in a degree program at the International University or College.
What will classes be like?
In schools and further education courses, usually one needs to follow a fixed curriculum. Higher education courses are flexible and offer freedom and one will be required to undertake a lot of independent study. Students are encouraged to use libraries and laboratories. Research students need to collect data, analyse, develop a logical form and present the information in a usable format - they will not have much classroom based exercises other than group discussions and debates among students and guides.
Many further education, foundation, undergraduate, and postgraduate courses include:
Lectures: The lecturer gives presentation to a large number of people (usually to the whole of class) and students are encouraged to take notes. The lecturer-student and student-student interaction in this case is limited to question hours, normally conduced at the end of the presentation. Usually lectures involving general topics are repeated within the same week, which one can attend at the time that best suit him/her.
Tutorials: To discuss the core information delivered through lectures, tutorials are organised. Students are split into small groups and encouraged to discuss with other students and teacher.
Seminars: Seminars involve a great deal of student participation in further analysis of a core information. A subject is normally divided into several sub-topics and students are encouraged to present their views in a specific topic, which is usually followed by group discussion.
Practical classes: Practical classes are intended to give practical exposure of the theories students have learnt, but some are intended to develop skills on their own right. Students often have to work individually under the supervision of a staff member. These classes are held at laboratories (science based courses); stage (drama, law); fields outside the institution (agriculture, geography) and workplace or model workplace (catering, medicine).
How much work will one have to do?
The numbers of theory and practical classes vary from course to course. Science and Engineering students have additional practical or laboratory classes. Social science, Business students do not have much practical work but they need to spend the equivalent amount of time in library, language laboratory or seminars.
Will one need his/her own computer?
The computing facilities in almost all UK institutions are extensive and students do not need their own computer. However, if the students wish they can buy one through retails or University stores and take advantage of the network facilities.

What is a transfer option?
A transfer option is to complete at least 2 years of the Bachelors program and then apply for a transfer to the International University that you want to attend. The years waived off in your transfer status will depend on the courses covered in India and the grades for the same.
What are the accommodation arrangements?
Both Undergraduate and Postgraduate Students are guaranteed accommodation by many Universities in their Halls of Residence, for at least their first year at the University provided they inform the University within the given deadlines.
Can one work while studying?
It depends on the length and type of program a student will be attending. One’s eligibility to work will be shown on the immigration stamp in his/her passport. International students are normally allowed to work for 20 hours per week during term days and full time during holidays. Student may need a letter from his/her institution that he/she has commenced the course or his/her identity card/passport to begin working. Many institutions have 'Job shop' to help students find part-time jobs. Job vacancies are also advertised in newspapers and Internet. There are also many national and regional employment agencies, run by both government and private, which can advise on the wide range of opportunities available at their client businesses and industries. Most employers will want to see a student’s resume and some times, they take an interview before hiring the student.

What is financial aid?

What is TA (teaching assistantship)?
Teaching assistants' assist a professor by teaching an undergraduate class or checking exam papers. They are paid for this job, which covers most of their expenses while at the University.

What is RA (research assistantship)?
Research fellowship/assistantship is an award that allows you to work in the capacity of an assistant to a professor on the research project assigned to him. As a research assistant the student receives tuition wavier or pays in-state tuition fees and earns additionally to sustain living expenses through their education.
What is a guarantor?
A guarantor is the person who legally co-signs one’s loan/financial aid documents. The guarantor takes the responsibility of assuring the bank that one can and will pay back the loan. If, in case he/she do not pay back then it is the responsibility of the guarantor to repay the loan.

What are financial aid packages?
A University offers a financial aid package, which consists of scholarships/grant and an on-campus employment program for the student. Hence this package helps one pay a large amount of his/her total cost.

What is a Bank letter?
A bank letter is the letter issued by the bank confirming the amount one’s parents can pay for his/her education.
Entry Clearance and Visa:
Is it tough to get Visas?
Student Visas are relatively easy to obtain. Most of the applicants from India who provide a confirmed offer from a University/College abroad and evidence of financial support for tuition fees and living costs are issued Visas.
From where can one get the Visa application form?
The Visa application form is available, free of charge, from the Consulate. Alternatively, you could collect the same at our offices.
What documents will one need to present to establish that he/she has permanent ties in India?
There are various documents that can prove that one has permanent ties in India - namely property papers, job offer letters, awareness of the job market in India etc. But what will really convince a Visa officer is one’s personal conviction. If student himself is not personally convinced that he/she need to come back to India, then it will be very difficult to prove it to somebody else as shrewd as a Visa officer that he/she will be coming back.
How much money do I really need to show at the time of Visa?
There is no upper-limit to the amount of funds that one should show for his/her Visa Interview. However, one should show a little more than is necessary to cover his/her expenses abroad. There is no need to go to the obscene limits of putting crores and crores in bank accounts unless they already exist there.
If the family money is in Indian Rupees how can he/she show the money in pounds?
There is absolutely no reason for one to worry on this account. Any bank that deals in foreign currency can issue a certificate stating that they will be able to provide him/her with the necessary amount of foreign currency, for further education, after he/she get the Visa.
What questions will they ask me in the Visa interview?
Relax, there is absolutely no need to be nervous about the ‘Student Visa Interview’. The people at the counter are friendly and will not grill you or have you for lunch! However, you should be thoroughly prepared for the questions.
Do the medical check-ups need to be done in specified hospitals and laboratories?
After the Visa Interview, one will be given a sheet of paper in which the designated hospital will be mentioned for his/her medical checkups. After one has collected the medical test reports, he/she will have to meet a designated doctor for the health checkup.
What is the port of entry and how important is this stage?
The ‘port of entry’ is the Airport that one will disembark upon after his/her flight. Technically the Visa allows one’s entry only till this stage of his/her journey. At the port of entry, one will have to meet the Immigration Officials again and it is they who really give the permission to enter their Country. One will have to convince the officers at the port of entry that he/she is a genuine student and that he/she is in perfect medical shape. But that should not be too difficult provided that one has all the important documents, that he/she took for Visa Interview in Mumbai, ready for inspection in handbag and can take them out easily for scrutiny at the port of entry. It is important to remember that the Officers at the port of entry do reserve the right of Interviewing once again before allowing permission to enter.
If one’s Visa is refused from Consulate in one city/region, can he/she reapply for a Visa from another city/region?
If wishes were horses one could possibly do that. If one apply for Visa from Mumbai and is refused the first time, then his/her second personal interview will have to be in Mumbai.
There are some agents who are guaranteeing one the American student Visa. How true might be their claim?
The American/UK Student Visa Officials have placed themselves above the influence of political interference (both from India and America) so there is no person who can guarantee an American student Visa. A counsellor can assist or guide one in terms of putting his/her papers together but no person is in a position to guarantee a Visa.

How much time should one spend in extra and co-curricular activities?
If a student is going to work for 20 hours a week, he/she probably cannot read all the recommended books. In addition, if one spends too much time in clubs, pubs, theaters, concerts he/she will end up with short span of time. The trick is to find a balance between these two - academic and social activities.
How to schedule my tasks?At the Institution, no body will ask the student to go to bed at 8 PM or study for 3 hours a day etc. One is free to do anything. Of course, one must attend tutorials, lectures, practical etc., at fixed time and must submit essays & assignments in time. Whether when one should write at 6 PM or 6 AM it is up to him/her.
How to make friends?
A particular student is not the only one who does not know anyone in the Institution. Most of his/her mates are also in the same situations. One may meet like-minded people in tutorials, classes, halls, and kitchen or sports ground.... An Institution is a large group of people where one will not be left alone. A student should share his/her interests, some jokes or at least have some fun - he/she should soon end up with a very large group of friends!
What is open learning?
Open learning is somewhat similar to distance learning. The main difference is that no specific prior qualifications are needed. All types of qualifications such as Undergraduate, Postgraduate, Vocational qualifications are run here.

What happens if I fail to clear screening test of MCI?
Normally a student who passes MBBS from an English medium WHO recognized University / College is expected to clear this test in first attempt. One can also take coaching towards preparation for the same, so it is not likely to be a deterrent factor. Screening test is conducted by National Board of Examination, New Delhi every six months. One can appear in the screening test for any number of times.
Is the Course approved by MCI?

There are two vacations- winter and summer. The winter vacation is around the last week of January and summer vacations are in July and August and you can easily come to your Home during this period. That is also the end of term. CES recommends the students to take summer as their main vacation.
Does a student need to comeback to India during his vacations?
Student need not comeback to India every year during his / her vacation and can stay back in China and explore the beautiful Country.

Can Parents visit the College?
Yes, Parents are most welcome to visit student’s Hostel and the College / University. There are guest rooms in Hostel where they can stay after paying a nominal charge.
If I need money in China, how my parents can send money?
The best way to transfer the money is to use international ATM / Debit cards. For this purpose student should open a bank a/c in his / her country that is offering international ATM / Debit card. Then whenever he needs money, his / her parents will just deposit / transfer amount in this account and the student can draw the amount from ATM machine of Chinese bank.
Can a student open a Bank Account in China?
Yes, a student can open a Bank Account to keep his money safe. He can also use this account to have his family remittance whenever required.
Where can I obtain foreign exchange during my studies in China?
We can organize to have your foreign exchange issued as well as have your fees remitted through RBI authorized foreign exchange dealers.
If student gets ill in China, who will take care of student? Is medical treatment available in Universities / Colleges?
All students, who join any University / College, are required to take a medical insurance to cover them for any medical assistance that they may require. This insurance would have to be taken at the time of joining. They usually cover all risks related to hospitalization and accidents; however outpatient bills won’t be covered under general insurance.

As a responsible student, you are expected to do your best to contact the relevant authorities at the University / College Hostel to solve your problems. As per law of MOE China and International Students Departments for foreigners, during study period, student can’t do part time job.

What are the financial documents I require?

When is the right time for submitting the Application?
Every foreign University/College has their own intakes (admission starting dates) during a year. Some have two intakes during the year, while others may have three or only one intake during the year. Generally, majority Institutions in a particular country follow same intake. Hence, one should initiate steps for admission process atleast 1 year in advance for the respective intake. Entry Requirements:
What one needs to be accepted into a course?
To be accepted into a course of study at a British institution, you need to satisfy the minimum academic entry requirements and English language requirements.
What if one doesn’t have the minimum entry qualifications?
Students with relevant practical experience but without formal qualifications are sometimes considered. Advice on the entry requirements for ones’ specific course and whether his/her work experience can be considered in lieu of his formal qualifications, can be obtained from the admission office of the respective institution.
For Undergraduate studies: if one does not have formal qualifications, he/she can undertake a Foundation course, which usually lasts one academic year. There are a number of colleges running the Foundation courses, as do many Universities.
For Postgraduate studies: Students having neither a formal degree nor relevant work experience, but have satisfied the course tutor that they have flair for the particular course, may be admitted to a Postgraduate Certificate program. A PG Certificate program usually lasts 6 months and comprises the first semester of the appropriate masters degree. On showing good performance in postgraduate certificate program, one can claim admission to postgraduate diploma and subsequently to a master degree, without any waste of time.
One has below average grades in his/her high school or college/University. Will he/she get admission?

About programs and classes:
Can one change his/her major upon reaching the University?
Yes, certainly. In fact, most undergraduate students change their major at least once during their four-year course of study. Most Universities abroad allow students the flexibility to change their major as they wish.
What are Sandwich and Foundation programs?
Sandwich programs are made-up of a combination of periods of study and time spent in Industry. So the course duration extends to 4-years instead of the usual 3-years, for all bachelors’ courses. Foundation programs are of 1-year duration and are generally tailored for students as an alternative route to bridge between one's qualification and that, which is required for entry in a degree program at the International University or College.
What will classes be like?
In schools and further education courses, usually one needs to follow a fixed curriculum. Higher education courses are flexible and offer freedom and one will be required to undertake a lot of independent study. Students are encouraged to use libraries and laboratories. Research students need to collect data, analyse, develop a logical form and present the information in a usable format - they will not have much classroom based exercises other than group discussions and debates among students and guides.
Many further education, foundation, undergraduate, and postgraduate courses include:
Lectures: The lecturer gives presentation to a large number of people (usually to the whole of class) and students are encouraged to take notes. The lecturer-student and student-student interaction in this case is limited to question hours, normally conduced at the end of the presentation. Usually lectures involving general topics are repeated within the same week, which one can attend at the time that best suit him/her.
Tutorials: To discuss the core information delivered through lectures, tutorials are organised. Students are split into small groups and encouraged to discuss with other students and teacher.
Seminars: Seminars involve a great deal of student participation in further analysis of a core information. A subject is normally divided into several sub-topics and students are encouraged to present their views in a specific topic, which is usually followed by group discussion.
Practical classes: Practical classes are intended to give practical exposure of the theories students have learnt, but some are intended to develop skills on their own right. Students often have to work individually under the supervision of a staff member. These classes are held at laboratories (science based courses); stage (drama, law); fields outside the institution (agriculture, geography) and workplace or model workplace (catering, medicine).
How much work will one have to do?
The numbers of theory and practical classes vary from course to course. Science and Engineering students have additional practical or laboratory classes. Social science, Business students do not have much practical work but they need to spend the equivalent amount of time in library, language laboratory or seminars.
Will one need his/her own computer?
The computing facilities in almost all UK institutions are extensive and students do not need their own computer. However, if the students wish they can buy one through retails or University stores and take advantage of the network facilities.

What is a transfer option?
A transfer option is to complete at least 2 years of the Bachelors program and then apply for a transfer to the International University that you want to attend. The years waived off in your transfer status will depend on the courses covered in India and the grades for the same.
What are the accommodation arrangements?
Both Undergraduate and Postgraduate Students are guaranteed accommodation by many Universities in their Halls of Residence, for at least their first year at the University provided they inform the University within the given deadlines.
Can one work while studying?
It depends on the length and type of program a student will be attending. One’s eligibility to work will be shown on the immigration stamp in his/her passport. International students are normally allowed to work for 20 hours per week during term days and full time during holidays. Student may need a letter from his/her institution that he/she has commenced the course or his/her identity card/passport to begin working. Many institutions have 'Job shop' to help students find part-time jobs. Job vacancies are also advertised in newspapers and Internet. There are also many national and regional employment agencies, run by both government and private, which can advise on the wide range of opportunities available at their client businesses and industries. Most employers will want to see a student’s resume and some times, they take an interview before hiring the student.

What is a guarantor?
A guarantor is the person who legally co-signs one’s loan/financial aid documents. The guarantor takes the responsibility of assuring the bank that one can and will pay back the loan. If, in case he/she do not pay back then it is the responsibility of the guarantor to repay the loan.

Entry Clearance and Visa:
Is it tough to get Visas?
Student Visas are relatively easy to obtain. Most of the applicants from India who provide a confirmed offer from a University/College abroad and evidence of financial support for tuition fees and living costs are issued Visas.
From where can one get the Visa application form?
The Visa application form is available, free of charge, from the Consulate. Alternatively, you could collect the same at our offices.
What documents will one need to present to establish that he/she has permanent ties in India?
There are various documents that can prove that one has permanent ties in India - namely property papers, job offer letters, awareness of the job market in India etc. But what will really convince a Visa officer is one’s personal conviction. If student himself is not personally convinced that he/she need to come back to India, then it will be very difficult to prove it to somebody else as shrewd as a Visa officer that he/she will be coming back.
How much money do I really need to show at the time of Visa?
There is no upper-limit to the amount of funds that one should show for his/her Visa Interview. However, one should show a little more than is necessary to cover his/her expenses abroad. There is no need to go to the obscene limits of putting crores and crores in bank accounts unless they already exist there.
If the family money is in Indian Rupees how can he/she show the money in pounds?
There is absolutely no reason for one to worry on this account. Any bank that deals in foreign currency can issue a certificate stating that they will be able to provide him/her with the necessary amount of foreign currency, for further education, after he/she get the Visa.
What questions will they ask me in the Visa interview?
Relax, there is absolutely no need to be nervous about the ‘Student Visa Interview’. The people at the counter are friendly and will not grill you or have you for lunch! However, you should be thoroughly prepared for the questions.
Do the medical check-ups need to be done in specified hospitals and laboratories?
After the Visa Interview, one will be given a sheet of paper in which the designated hospital will be mentioned for his/her medical checkups. After one has collected the medical test reports, he/she will have to meet a designated doctor for the health checkup.
What is the port of entry and how important is this stage?
The ‘port of entry’ is the Airport that one will disembark upon after his/her flight. Technically the Visa allows one’s entry only till this stage of his/her journey. At the port of entry, one will have to meet the Immigration Officials again and it is they who really give the permission to enter their Country. One will have to convince the officers at the port of entry that he/she is a genuine student and that he/she is in perfect medical shape. But that should not be too difficult provided that one has all the important documents, that he/she took for Visa Interview in Mumbai, ready for inspection in handbag and can take them out easily for scrutiny at the port of entry. It is important to remember that the Officers at the port of entry do reserve the right of Interviewing once again before allowing permission to enter.
If one’s Visa is refused from Consulate in one city/region, can he/she reapply for a Visa from another city/region?
If wishes were horses one could possibly do that. If one apply for Visa from Mumbai and is refused the first time, then his/her second personal interview will have to be in Mumbai.
There are some agents who are guaranteeing one the American student Visa. How true might be their claim?
The American/UK Student Visa Officials have placed themselves above the influence of political interference (both from India and America) so there is no person who can guarantee an American student Visa. A counsellor can assist or guide one in terms of putting his/her papers together but no person is in a position to guarantee a Visa.

How much time should one spend in extra and co-curricular activities?
If a student is going to work for 20 hours a week, he/she probably cannot read all the recommended books. In addition, if one spends too much time in clubs, pubs, theaters, concerts he/she will end up with short span of time. The trick is to find a balance between these two - academic and social activities.
How to schedule my tasks?At the Institution, no body will ask the student to go to bed at 8 PM or study for 3 hours a day etc. One is free to do anything. Of course, one must attend tutorials, lectures, practical etc., at fixed time and must submit essays & assignments in time. Whether when one should write at 6 PM or 6 AM it is up to him/her.
How to make friends?
A particular student is not the only one who does not know anyone in the Institution. Most of his/her mates are also in the same situations. One may meet like-minded people in tutorials, classes, halls, and kitchen or sports ground.... An Institution is a large group of people where one will not be left alone. A student should share his/her interests, some jokes or at least have some fun - he/she should soon end up with a very large group of friends!
